The Riverside & Avondale Historic Districts, governed by the Riverside Avondale Preservation Society (RAP), are known for their preservation of character and unique elements not found anywhere else in Jacksonville. Majority of these homes are small but hold years of historic charm, great for first time homebuyers looking to be close to downtown.
This property was a distressed sale from a previous investor who had financial hardships and needed to liquidate their rental portfolio. The property had not been properly maintained over the years and needed a full renovation. We worked with the current tenant to find a new place and even helped pay for her relocation once we closed on the property.
Work began soon after, with a plan to turn the once dilapidated screened porch into a finished addition that housed a master bathroom and office. High-end finishes were used throughout and we preserved some of the natural charm with the brick fireplace, hardwood floors and wood windows. This property was finished in the fall of 2014, and sold in January after a cold dry buying season in November and December.
